Building Skills: Tiling
Course Objective
Qualifying learners are able to prepare surfaces, apply tiles to walls and floors, and repair existing tiling without supervision.
Target Audience
The range of typical learners include persons involved in the application of tiles to walls, columns, steps, piers and around a bath.

Pre-requisites
Learners should have acquired the competencies of NQF Level 2 in the Further Education and Training (FET) Band, especially numeracy and literacy competencies, prior to embarking on learning towards this skills program.

Portfolio of Evidence
Formative assessment: Evidence of performance will be collected continuously as Learners progress and will be considered in the final determination of the learners capabilities.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply health & safety to a work area
- Establish and prepare a work area
- Plan and prepare to tile
- Apply tiles to plastered surfaces
