Course Objective

The purpose of this skills program is to provide learners with the standards required to satisfy the challenges effectively in the construction, engineering and maintenance industries.

Target Audience

The range of typical learners include persons involved with structured welding /cutting / manufacturing a range of structures and elements.

25 Days / or 20 Days (Limited)

Minimum of 10 / Maximum of 20

Pre-requisites

Learners should have acquired the numeracy and literacy competencies of NQF Level 2 in the Further Education and Training (FET) Band, prior to embarking on learning towards this skills program.

Portfolio of Evidence

Formative assessment: Evidence of performance will be collected continuously as Learners progress and will be considered in the final determination of the learners capabilities.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

- Apply health & safety to a work area

- The use of hand tools

- Use Arch welding equipment

- Fabricate steel windows/furniture/burglar proofing

- Welding repair work

- Motor vehicle exhaust repair
